Union Point Park Complex
One of the true gems of the City, Union Point Park Complex is a scenic 6 acre site located at the point of the Neuse and Trent Rivers in beautiful historic downtown New Bern. The hallmark, a recently constructed Gazebo frequently used for weddings, festivals, and various special events, highlights what is a magnificent and breathtaking view. This complex includes a walkway bridging Union Point Park and Bicentennial Park, two boat launches, restroom facilities, picnic tables, fishing pier, grills, and a small playground.
This is a 51 acre park located on the Neuse River, north of downtown. It has many natural features: Neuse River, hills, ravines and shady woodlands. Amenities include a paved public boat ramp, fishing pier, four picnic shelters, restroom facilities, Frisbee golf course and a playground. Picnic tables are located at each shelter and throughout the park. Glenburnie Park is also home to the Down East Dog Park. With two separate fenced in areas for both big dogs and small dogs, pets and pet-owners have plenty to be excited about.
Lawson Creek Park / Jack's Island
This is a 140 acre park located just west of the Tryon Palace on the Trent River. Lawson Creek Park has two boat launches, restroom facilities, picnic shelter, two soccer fields, two fishing piers, a handicap walkway, one handicap fishing pier, and a walking trail. The picnic area is located at Jack's Island which contains a walkway with picnic tables, grills and ample parking.
Fort Totten Park and Field
Located between Neuse Boulevard and Trent Road on Fort Totten Drive, this is a 5.4 acre site which features a lighted softball field, modular playground and tot lot, picnic shelter with grills and picnic tables, restroom facilities and street side parking.
Pleasant Hill Park
With the recent addition of a new shelter, Pleasant Hill is a 4.5 acre open space park located on Highway 55 West. It includes two picnic shelters with six tables and one grill per shelter, bathroom facilities, a playground, a horseshoe pit, a volleyball court, a walking trail, and a basketball court.
James Reed Lane
A small park located downtown on Pollock Street between Middle and Craven Streets, this area contains a water fountain and several benches for people to rest and relax while shopping or lunching.
With three hand-carved wood Bears, flower gardens adopted by the New Bern Garden Club, and benches to relax and take it all in, Bear Plaza is located downtown on Middle Street.
Seth West Parrott Park
THis 25 acre park is home to Kidsville, and encompasses the West New Bern Recreation Center, four tennis courts, two lighted baseball fields, two lighted little league fields, three field houses with restrooms, one outdoor lighted basketball court, ample parking and a picnic shelter.
D.E. Henderson Park
This is a 30 acre park that adjoins Stanley White Recreation Center located at Chapman Street. This park consists of two shelters with grills and four picnic tables. The surrounding grounds have two lighted basketball courts, two baseball fields, a soccer field, modular playground, outdoor restroom facilities, walking trail, Parcourse Joint-Use Fitcenter and ample parking.
George Street Park
This 2 acre park is located next to the United Senior Services building, and includes a baseball field and a basketball court. Used for tee ball games, tee ball practices, and free play basketball.
This park is located on George Street behind the New Bern Police Department. It has a lighted baseball field, restrooms and a concession stand.
Pierce Park and Field
This 3.7 acre facility has amenities including two lighted little league fields with bleachers, playground equipment, restroom facilities and a small concession stand. The fields are used for baseball and tee ball games and practices. The park and field are located next to the National Cemetery on Oaks Road.
Donald Miller Park
A 0.5 acre recreation area at the juncture of the Neuse River on Avenue A, This park serves the needs of the surrounding neighborhood and contains picnic tables and park benches.
Leander Morgan Park
This is a 7 acre green space park, and contains several picnic tables. It is located on Walt Bellamy Drive.
Located on Simmons Street and Dr. M. L. King Jr. Boulevard, this pocket park contains picnic tables and grills, and serves the needs of the surrounding neighborhood.
Tryon Village Park
With picnic tables, grills and playground equipment, this is a 1 acre residential park located on Meadows Street and Tatum Drive.
Mary White Park
This park is 0.3 acre located on the corner of Julia Clay Court and N. Bern Street. This open space park contains a small play area.
Monk Mallard Park
This 3 acre park is located on N. Craven Street and Dunn Street, and includes a small playground, picnic tables and grills.
Council Bluff Green Park
This open spave park is on Front Street with a beautiful view of the Neuse River. This is an open space park contains several benches and flower beds.
This is 0.5 acre park is New Bern's newest outdoor recreation facility. Nestled at the foot of Lawson Creek Park, this park offers the opportunity to kayak, canoe, fish, or park your bike and rest on one of the park benches, while reflecting on the beauty of the natural surroundings.
George Street Spray Park
Open from June to August, this park features a 80' x 80' play pad with several water play components to cool down during the hot summer days. It features shower tunnels, foam geysers, pop jets, mini popcorn jets, and the features are changeable to keep the fun going year after year. The park includes a basketball court, full service restroom facility, a shade area, picnic tables, and off-street parking. Great for daycare, daycamp or birthday parties.
New Bern Aquatics Center Complex
This family-oriented facility is a combination of swim and play, featuring zero entry pool depts, interactive water features, slides, swim lanes, and a large deck. Also included are family locker rooms concessions, office space, and a conference room/'rest area. Full-time certified pool operator, lifeguard and attendants make up the facility staff.
